Ms. Sam
Hi, my name is Ms. Sam. I was raised in Cape Town, South Africa, and as a teenager moved to Chicago to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Trinity International University. After graduating, I began the necessary schooling to pursue a career in marriage and family therapy while working as a nanny part-time. During this time, I realized that I valued being a part of the teachable moments in a child’s life (five years with the same family). I have since earned a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from DePaul University and hold an Illinois Professional Educators License (PEL) to teach birth-third grade. I’ve taught at various schools over the last decade, and life has brought me here. I am so excited to be teaching at PrimWin!

I’ve been through several hurdles in my life, but I’ve survived each one. I’m proud of that! I love my faith & family. I love exploring new things & dream about traveling to bucket list locations. I love taking photos, vintage hunting, & am a “Potter Head.” I have my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling. After dedicating 10 years to the field, I decided to make a career change. I landed at PrimWin for my first teaching experience. I was the Lead Infant 2 teacher for 2.5 years and loved every bit of it. I am currently the Lead Building Float and manage PrimWin social media (Website, Facebook, & Instagram).

Ms. Maura
I am proud to work at Primrose because it is the first place I have felt at home since my previous job. Primrose’s main goal is the children’s safety, their relationships, and most importantly, that they are loved by everyone who cares for them. I am thankful that I am part of the PrimWin team.

My favorite holiday is Christmas. I love Christmas music and putting up decorations. I have three children, ages 21,19, and 15 + 8 pets. I have three dogs (Max, Molly, Greta), three cats (Chino, Mis, and Rosie), a black velveteen rabbit named Rocco, and a parakeet named Tweety. In my personal time, I love to travel with my kids, read, and do crossstitch!

Ms. Mary
I am from Minooka IL. I grew up on a farm and loved it. I am one of 8 kids. There are 6 girls and 2 boys. I have been married for 28 years and have two sons. Ethan, 27, and Kyle, 23. In September 2021 I found out that I had breast cancer in my right breast stage one. I had them both removed, chemo and radiation. I am great now just on chemo pills. I will be on chemo pills for the next 10 years. I was at the Primrose of Naperville as the Kitchen manager for 4 years. They were amazing for me and all that I went through. The staff, parents, and kids were very supportive.

Franchise Owner
Steve and Christa Stalcup
Welcome! I am Dr. Christa Stalcup, and my husband, Steve, and I are the proud owners of Primrose School of Winfield. We are honored to have the opportunity to serve the families of this community.
As a lifelong educator, I have worked in the field of education for over 25 years. With a doctoral degree in educational leadership, and varied experience as a classroom teacher, administrator, and university professor, I will use this skill set to ensure the Primrose Balanced Learning® approach is implemented with fidelity balancing purposeful play with nurturing guidance from teachers to encourage curiosity, creativity, confidence and compassion. After much reflection, I decided that early childhood education is the educational area that gratifies my heart. My children and husband often call me a “magnet,” as young children seem to always find their way into my arms while waiting in line at the grocery store. I am deeply committed to the children, families and communities we serve. At Primrose, we believe that who children become is as important as what they know!
Satisfying the roles of a supportive husband and business partner, Steve is happy to accompany me on this Primrose venture. With over 28 years of experience as a financial advisor, helping clients achieve their financial/retirement goals, we are the perfect pairing to ensure a stable, nurturing and supportive environment for our Primrose children. This expertise will support the business side, although you are sure to see him around. He’s always up for a great conversation! As part of Primrose Schools, we believe in giving back. Steve continues to coach youth sports in our local community and works to build the children’s physical abilities and strong character. Having five “almost grown” children between us, we value our family and will value yours as well, working with you to build a trusted relationship. Building active minds, healthy bodies and happy hearts is our goal at Primrose School of Winfield. We are so excited to meet you and show you all that Primrose has to offer!
