Through purposeful play, meaningful questions and direct instruction, our Preschool teachers encourage your child to think in new and different ways. Health & Safety
Our school is committed to high standards of safety and cleanliness as we create a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
- Requiring any children or staff with respiratory illness symptoms or fever to return home and stay home until fever free for at least 24 hours
- Frequent disinfecting and sanitizing of high-touch toys
- Frequent handwashing by children and staff, which is embedded in our curriculum and daily staff protocols
- Training teachers on common signs of illness in children, and placing signage in every classroom to keep signs of illness top of mind
- Daily laundering of crib sheets for infants; for older children, individual cots and blankets are provided for each child and laundered weekly
- Ensuring appropriate teacher-student classroom ratios
- Continuous health & safety training for our staff, including first aid and CPR certification
- Maintaining an up-to-date and customized Safe School Plan posted in all classrooms for easy teacher access

Ms. Amber
I’m Ms. Amber, and I would like to tell you a little about myself. I am originally from Shallotte, NC and love working with children each day.
I have my Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education from Shaw University. I have a son named Brayden and a daughter named Amron, who are the light of my life. I love to help children grow and ensure children feel loved and cared for when they are with me each day.
Education Background: Bachelors in Early Childhood Education
My Favorite Thing About Working with Children: Learning and understanding each child individually.
Favorite Children’s Book: Any Dr. Seuss book
In My Personal Time: I enjoy watching scary movies, walks at the park, and spending time with my children and watching them grow.

Ms. Deanna
I’m Ms. Deanna, and I would like to tell you a little about myself. I am originally from Chicago, IL but currently live in Durham, NC with my husband.
I attended Harold Washington College in Chicago, where I obtained my Associates degree in Business Management. While I am new to childcare, I have always been deemed the family babysitter. I have taken care of my God daughter since she was an infant, and it has been so rewarding to watch her grow firsthand. I cannot wait to grow my childcare career, starting here at Primrose.

Ms. La Toya
I’m Ms. La Toya, and I would like to tell you a little about myself. I am from Whiteville, NC. I have 1 son, and 2 grandchildren, who are 4-years-old and 1-years-old.
I graduated from West Columbus High School in Cerro Gordo, NC and attended some college thereafter. I completed my Doctorate degree in Christian Leadership from The School of Great Commission Bible College. I have loved working with various ages of children throughout the years, because I get to make such an impact on their lives.
